Peter Drucker (1909-2005) is the author of this quote. Drucker was a management consultant, professor and author of 39 books and an infinite number of articles and a guru among business management professors. His book "The practice of management" (1954) is considered as one of the most influential economic books.
HOW TO APPLY IT IN YOUR EVERY DAY LIFE
In 2022, this distinction between leaders and managers will be much more blurred. We are all leaders, first and foremost of ourselves. You make a number of decisions and these decisions lead to a number of actions. And these actions determine how others perceive you. So be aware of the shadow you cast. Or like Mahatma Gandhi said: “You must be the change you wish to see in the world”.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Through the inversion of the words “things” and “right”, Drucker succeeds in creating a hierarchy between Management and Leadership. Leadership is clearly of higher importance than Management. Managers carry out tasks, leaders determine the vision and the direction.
